Chelsea Target Drops Huge Hint Over Potential Big-Money Move To Arsenal
A Chelsea target has dropped a huge hint that he could make a big-money move to London rivals Arsenal next summer. Find out who the mystery player is here.
Although the summer transfer window is officially closed that doesn’t stop clubs working hard behind the scenes to prepare for future signings, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest gossip. Today, Julian Draxler talks-up a summer move to Arsenal.
German starlet Julian Draxler has dropped a huge hint that he could make a big-money move to Arsenal in the summer amid reported interest from the Gunners and Chelsea, according to the Mirror.
The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the most sought-after youngsters in Europe since breaking in to the Schalke first team two years ago and has since become a regular in Joachim Low’s senior German international set up.
His impressive form has seen him grab the attention of several top clubs throughout Europe with reports in the summer claiming that Arsenal and Chelsea tried to lure him to the Premier League and the duo have retained their interest ahead of the January window.
Draxler has now been quoted in the Mirror as saying that while he won’t make a move this winter as it may jeopardise his place at the World Cup, he will consider his future in the summer and it appears Arsenal have caught his eye.
The young attacker has revealed that he has already spoken with compatriots Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil about life at the Emirates, before saying that Arsenal are a “very, very nice team” that plays the kind of attractive football he likes.
“No way. I won’t switch then [in January]. It’s very important for me to play nearly every game. For my club I have the chance to play nearly every game, it’s important for me to improve myself.
“I’ve said every summer I have to look what is the best for me and I will do in the summer again and we will see what happens.”
“I have always said English teams are very big clubs and Arsenal is of course one of them.
“Of course I sometimes speak to Mesut or Per about the team, about the club, and they always have good words and they tell me nice things. You never know what happens in the summer but Arsenal is a very, very nice team.”
“They always have very young players, they play attractive football and that’s what I like.”
The Mirror claim that the midfielder has a €45m buy-out clause in his contract, so Arsene Wenger will have to be prepared to splash the cash if he wants to land him, but it would certainly be another major signing if the Gunners could pull it off.
If Schalke do decide to cash in on Draxler, Arsenal are likely to face stiff competition for his signature from not only within the Premiership but also throughout Europe.
However, judging by the players comments, the north Londoners have a decent chance of winning the race and the prospect of Draxler being able to link up with his international team-mates at the Emirates is sure to go in Arsenal’s favour.
