[Video] Striker Claims Liverpool & Tottenham Offers – Watch Him In Action Here
Swedish starlet Valmir Berisha claims that he has offers from a whole host of clubs with Liverpool and Tottenham among those interested in his services.
Although the summer transfer window is officially closed that doesn’t stop clubs working hard behind the scenes to prepare for future signings, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest gossip. Today, a Swedish starlet claims Liverpool and Tottenham want to sign him.
Swedish starlet Valmir Berisha claims that he has offers from a whole host of clubs with Liverpool and Tottenham among those interested in his services, according to the Mirror.
The 17-year-old has hit the headlines in recent weeks after scoring a hat-trick for the Swedish under-17’s during a 4-1 win over Argentina at the World Cup in Abu Dhabi, while he also scoring a stunning backheel int he semi-final against Honduras.
Berisha currently plays in his homeland for Halmstads but has been strongly tipped to make a move when the transfer window re-opens in January, and it seems we could see him plying his trade in the Premier League before not too long.
The youngster has claimed that Liverpool and Tottenham are among a number of top European clubs who have tabled offers for him, with competition coming from the likes of Ajax, Milan and Celtic. He said:
“The clubs that have shown the biggest interest are Ajax, Milan, Liverpool, Sunderland, Tottenham and Celtic.
“I have got offers from everywhere, from England, Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland and Russia. There are some options.” Berisha is quoted as saying by the Mirror.
However, the player is not going to rush a decision over his future and is mindful that he picks the club to move to next, with first team football of vital importance. He continued:
“They have all offered me contracts. But it is a matter of choosing the right one, that is the most important.”
“I want to join a club who need a striker, then I can exploit that to get playing time. I don’t think I will join a very big club.”
The youngster ended up being the top scorer at the recent Under-17 World Cup with seven goals, which will no doubt have increased his value, but we’ll have to wait and see whether a club will make Halmstads an offer they can’t refuse in January, or the interested parties wait until the summer to try and snap up one of Sweden’s hottest properties.
