Tottenham vs Manchester United: Predicted Starting XI’s For The Big Game

By on November 29, 2013

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Manchester United to White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon with both sides looking to close the gap at the top of the league.

Andre Villas-Boas found himself under intense pressure following last week’s 6-0 loss to Manchester City but made nine changes for the game against Tromso in midweek, which the north Londoners won 2-0 to secure top spot in their Europa League group.

Hugo Lloris, Kyle Walker, Sandro, Paulinho, Jan Vertonghen and Aaron Lennon were among those rested on Thursday so they are expected to be recalled.

Vlad Chiriches could keep his place in defence after an excellent display against the Norwegian’s while Roberto Soldado should start up front despite struggling in front of goal this season.

As for United they put in a superb performance to beat Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday night and David Moyes should stick with the majority of the team that put five past the Germans.

The United boss confirmed that Robin van Persie and Nemanja Vidic are in with a chance of featuring after missing the game in midweek. Shinji Kagawa has a good chance of keeping his spot after an excellent display while Marouane Fellaini could come back in to the midfield after serving a suspension last time out.

Here are the predicted line-ups:

mr moyes I advised u against bayern leverkusen that anytime u want to loose a match u should play felaini but If u want to win dont even put him on d bench becos u may be tempted to bring him on. I know giggs may b tired but u can play Jones and kagawa at d middle with Rooney in front of them, van persie in attack
