Laurent Koscielny

It was a thrilling game in north London today and a 1-1 draw was probably a fair result. We weren’t at our best but the visitors put in an excellent display and worked hard for their point. Here are my ratings from the game:

Szczesny 7.5/10

Another impressive shift from the Pole in goal. Could do little to stop the equaliser as it flew past him and made a few decent saves.

Jenkinson 7/10

An assured display by the youngster who was filling in for the injured Bacary Sagna at right-back.

Gibbs 6.5/10

Should have done more to try and stop Deulofeu getting his shot at goal but was otherwise OK, and was eager to get involved in the attacks down his wing.

Mertesacker 7.5/10

Did his bit to keep Everton at bay and could do nothing to prevent their goal.

Koscielny 8.5/10

Another superb display from the Frenchman. Fought well with Lukaku and made several important interceptions.

Arteta 6.5/10

Looked a little off the pace at times and was over-run in midfield on occasion. Mathieu Flamini may have been a wiser option up against a battling Everton midfield.

Ramsey 6.5/10

Not up to the high standards he’s set this season. Couldn’t really stamp his authority on the game and dare I say he looked a little tired. Not what we need as we enter a crucial two weeks. Hopefully he’ll be back to his best on Wednesday.

Wilshere 7/10

A mixed game. Showed bursts of what’s he’s capable of but not really on the ball as much as he would have liked.

Cazorla 6/10

Another below par display from the Spaniard. Needs a big performance soon as he’s not been playing well of late.

Ozil 8/10

Another excellent performance and he got himself on the scoresheet for the second game running.

Giroud 7.5/10

Was a nuisance for the visitors and almost won it with a stunning long-range effort that clattered the bar.

Subs:

Walcott 7/10 – Grabbed an assist with a clever header across goal.

Flamini 7/10 – Was all over the pitch trying to make things happen and flashed a shot wide.

Rosicky 7/10 – Added more urgency and his cross lead to the goal.
