Chelsea beat Steaua Bucharest 1-0 at Stamford Bridge to secure top spot in Group E of the Champions League.

The Blues broke the deadlock early on when Demba Ba was on hand to bundle the ball home following a corner in the 11th minute and despite dominating for the rest of game, the home side failed to add to the scoreline and it finished 1-0.

The result means Jose Mourinho’s men finish two points clear of Schalke – who beat Basel 2-0 in the groups other fixture.
