The Mirror are reporting that Spanish midfielder Koke has responded to reports suggesting he could be heading for a move to Manchester United after David Moyes watched him in action this week.

Koke has risen through the ranks at Atletico Madrid to become a first team regular in recent seasons and is now regarded as one of Spain’s most promising young talents.

The Mirror claims that the midfielder is a key target for United and Moyes was spotted in the stands during Atletico Madrid’s 2-0 win over Porto on Wednesday night, apparently to make a personal check on the 21-year-old.

However, it doesn’t sound like Koke is too keen on a move to Old Trafford, with the player insisting he isn’t bothered about United’s interest after only recently signing a new deal with Madrid. When asked about the reported interest from United, Koke said:

“I did not know anything about it, neither does it bother me. I signed a new contract last summer.” Koke is quoted as saying by the Mirror.

United have endured a difficult start to life under Moyes and are already 13 points off the pace in the Premier League, so new additions could be on the cards this winter to boost their title defence.

The newspaper suggests that Moyes is drawing up a list of potential targets ahead of the January transfer window and he’s understood to be lining-up a bid for the £20m-rated Koke, but it looks like the Scot may have his work cut out in trying to persuade the midfielder to make the switch to England.
