Atletico Madrid sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero has confirmed that top Premier League clubs are aware of Diego Costa’s €38m release clause but insists the striker won’t be leaving this month, according to Sky Sports News.

The 25-year-old’s stunning form has attracted interest from all across Europe with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all strongly linked with triggering his release clause and trying to lure him to the Premier League.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger joked last week when quizzed about his interest that the striker would cost nearer £145m. However, while Caminero confirmed Costa’s buy-out figure does stand at €38m (£31.5m), he insisted the player was committed to Atletico and was confident he won’t be leaving this month.

“The player has a clause of 38 millions euros and the big clubs in England know this,”

“Diego Costa has matured and is smart when it comes to decision making.

“Right now, Costa does not think of leaving, he is hooked on Atletico. He has re-signed a deal that is important, I am confident he will continue with us.” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports

The Brazilian-born hitman has been in sensational form this season with his 19 goals in just 17 games not only making him the league’s top goal-scorer ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, but they have also helped Atletico keep pace with Barcelona at the top of the La Liga table.

Atletico’s form hasn’t just attracted interest in Costa, with recent reports suggesting Man Utd are keeping a close eye on impressive midfielder Koke.

However, once again Caminero is convinced the 21-year-old will be with the club for years to come.

“I’m not surprised with this subject,” Caminero responded, when asked about United’s interest.

“He is a player who has improved considerably. It has also made it into the Spain squad and that puts you in the spotlight and opens more eyes. “Koke will be with us for many years. I am convinced,” he concluded.
