Tottenham Hotspur got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.
The visitors were handed the perfect opportunity to open the scoring after Marouane Chamakh was bundled over in the area but Jason Puncheon ballooned the resulting penalty high and wide.
Spurs made Palace pay for that miss when Christian Eriksen fired the hosts ahead just after half time and Jermain Defoe – who has just agreed a deal to join Toronto FC – came off the bench to seal the three points with a close range finish.
