[Player Ratings] Arsenal 4-0 Coventry: Podolski In Devastating Form For Gunners

Arsenal beat Coventry 4-0 on Friday night to ease into the fifth round of the FA Cup. Lukas Podolski hit a first half brace before Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla scored late efforts to put a bit of gloss on the scoreline.

Here are my ratings from the game:

Fabianski 7.5/10

Made a great save when it was 1-0 before being called into action on a couple of occasions in the second half including a vital save to keep it at 2-0.

Jenkinson 6.5/10

His crossing was excellent when he found space but decision making was poor at times as he kept running into trouble instead of giving the simple ball.

Mertesacker 7/10

Another calm and composed display from the German. Won the ball back in the middle of the park for the opener.

Koscielny 7/10

Made a couple of decent tackles but will face much sterner tests than this.

Gibbs 7/10

Was always keep to kept forward and got his rewards when he set up the third for Giroud after some lovely work with Cazorla.

Wilshere 7/10

Neat and tidy in midfield. A few lovely pieces of inter-play but no real moments of magic.

Oxlade-Chamberlain 6.5/10

A few attempted long passes went astray and he looked a little rusty, which is understandable as it’s his first start in over five months.

Gnabry 6.5/10

Took the corner for second but was in and out the game. We saw some moments of skill but he went missing at times.

Podolski 8/10

Superbly cool finish for the first and on hand to head home the second. Devastating finisher.

Ozil 7.5/10

Great assist for the opener and was a threat all night. So comfortable on the ball.

Bendtner 5/10

Not up to the pace of the game at all and put a couple of shots well off target.

Subs:

Cazorla 7.5/10 – Made a great impact from the bench and capped it off with a well taken goal.

Zelalem 7/10 – Can he really be 16?! An assured display for one so young. A real star for the future.

Giroud 7.5/10 – Came on and sealed the game with a low drive for the third.
