How Many Will Arsenal Beat West Ham By?

Heading into Saturday’s 3pm kickoff at the Emirates stadium between Arsenal and West Ham, the result doesn’t look in doubt. The bookmakers have placed Arsenal as 1/5 favourites to beat the bottom of the Premier League visitors.

VOdds

Arsenal got back to winning ways in the Premier League two weeks ago with a home victory against Birmingham. That was followed up with a 5-1 victory over Shakhar Donestsk before thrashing 10-man Manchester City 3-0 last weekend. A midweek 4-0 thrashing over Newcastle only showed what Arsenal are capable of, now having scored 14 goals in their last 4 games, all leading to victories.

Meanwhile, West Ham lie bottom of the Premier League, 3 points and a large number of goals from escaping the drop zone. A home defeat to Newcastle last weekend was a big blow to the London side who have looked dreadful in defence this season.

A midweek victory over Stoke in the Carling Cup may have given them a confidence boost, but the additional 30 minutes extra time may have worn the first teamers down. Not that there were many of them, but Scott Parker, Carlton Cole and James Tomkins all played the full 90 minutes. And Rob Green wasn’t part of the winning side.

So with West Ham’s key players fatigued from their midweek game, and Arsenal’s first teamers rested and firing, the finger points to only one side winning this weekend’s fixture at the Emirates. Well, only one side can ever win a single match of football, but you get what I mean. Arsenal are rightfully the firm favourites, and it’s a case of how many they are going to win by.

West Ham’s biggest asset this season, and the one that has helped them to their meagre 6 points is their midfield. Unfortunately for the visitors, I can see the likes of Scott Parker, Mark Noble and Keiron Dyer being outplayed by the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Andrey Arshavin. Not to mention former Gunner, Luis Boa Morte. Marouane Chamakh is too good for Matthew Upson, and Rob Green is a bigger liability than Manuel Almunia, who has finally been dropped from the Arsenal starting XI. Although he claims to be injured.

In terms of odds for this match, Arsenal are 1/5 just to win. Easy money. On the handicap, Arsenal are ½ -1.5 as pointed out in this weeks Premier League Tips. Their price becomes attractive at -2.5 when the bookmakers give out above evens. How many do you predict Arsenal will beat West Ham by this weekend?

I think Obinna will grab the only goal of the game he is a future superstar (joking) but I do not think it will be as ridiculous as some suggest, Arsenal will struggle to finish top 4, they were really struggling against City before Boyata got sent off. Its a hard league.
I have watched alot of Tottenham this season and they look tremendous espeicially with all there injuries in defence (Bale, Modric VdVaart would get into ANY team in the premiership not even an arsenal fan would disagree) and I think City will be 3rd.
Just hope us lot can avoid relegation

If our boys take the same attitude as the author of this article then we will lose. The arrogance of this article is beyond me!

Please see my other comments, the author is NOT an Arsenal fan. He is a neutral, betting tipster. He thinks Arsenal will win, what’s the big deal?!

i agree with Dan. We can’t go into any game, even against a league 2 side with that attitude. that is how complacency sets in. how many upsets were there in the premier league last season? Any team on there day can beat any other (WBA), which is a) why i love the premier league so much, and b) why complacency is always an idiots game

“…they were really struggling against City before Boyata got sent off…”

Lol Jay, he was only on the pitch for like 4 minutes!

We should beat West Ham but I can’t see a huge scoreline, I think we’ll keep another clean sheet though so my prediction is 4-0.

jay,u’re the most unreasonable person i’ve seen today! maybe u feed 2ru the other end of the body!!! Arsenal is on a fine form at the moment. at that, they can beat any team admirably. As for Citeh game, they were bound to loss even if they were 13 players against Arsenal!!

    West Brom
that’s all I have to say.

No, actually that’s not all I have to say, I will add that the arrogance of this is quite shocking, we should never underestimate an opponent, and if they do seem weaker, we still have to show them respect Because beyond wins and trophies, Class is what Arsenal are all about.

Good job mr author for giving us gooners a bad name.

As i’ve said already, the author is a betting tipster and NOT an Arsenal fan. Check his other articles and you will see that. Please do some research and think before commenting and criticising.

i think this is a really bad blog….yes i love the confidence but this is called being a cocky twat and thats what half the people are being by taking the piss out of west ham. we should never ever go in to a game and underestimate the team we are playing no matter who or were we are playing so lets just be respectful because if aresenal were to lose then arsenal fans would look really stupid

To clarify, the author is NOT an Arsenal fan, he is a football tipster (and a good one at that, 100% success rate recently) who predicts the result of selected games each week on Football-Talk.

Please don’t claim this to be a ‘bad blog’ because a betting expert thinks Arsenal will win a football match! We are NOT an Arsenal blog, we cover news for all the Premier Leagues top sides. We’re called ‘Football-Talk’ not ‘Arsenal-Talk’ you know!

To be fair, i think the title in this article is a little tongue in cheek. Arsenal are clear favourites and the author is a ‘tipster’ not an Arsenal fan as many people have mistakenly claimed. Look at his past articles and you will see that.

My personal opinion is Arsenal will win 3-0, yes i am a gooner and i don’t care if my prediction is considered arrogant. Its a simple fact that we are better than West Ham, we’re at home, they are bottom of the league, so why wouldn’t we be confident?
