Chelsea produced a magnificent performance to beat Manchester City 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night.
In what was a hugely entertaining game, the visitors broke the deadlock midway through the first half when Branislav Ivanovic fired home a thunderous effort from the edge of the box.
Both sides had chances with Chelsea going closest to extending their lead, hitting the woodwork on three occasions. City pushed hard for an equaliser towards the end but the Blues held out to hand Manuel Pellegrini’s side their first defeat of the season on home soil and move the west Londoners level on points in second place.
