[Video Highlights] Liverpool 5-1 Arsenal: Rampant Reds Demolish Gunners

By on February 8, 2014

Liverpool produced a magnificent display to thrash league leaders Arsenal 5-1 at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts came flying out the blocks and quickly went 2-0 ahead thanks to a double from Martin Skrtel following two Steven Gerrard set pieces. It was 3-0 soon after when Raheem Sterling swept home from close range before Daniel Sturridge made it 4 after just 20 minutes with a fine finish after being sent through by Philippe Coutinho.

Things for worst for the Gunners when Sterling got his second of the game shortly after half-time before Mikel Arteta grabbed a consolation from the penalty spot after Gerrard had brought down Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The win sees Liverpool move to within five points of Arsenal – who could drop to third if Chelsea and Man City both win today.

I said it before that if Liverpool fail to win arsenal, the should forget top four, but now Liverpool still have hope for top4 if they did not slumber for next games.
