Manchester United’s disappointing season continued as Darren Bent headed home an injury time equaliser to salvage a 2-2 draw for Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The visitors set up with the clear intention of defending their goal and trying to his the champions on the break and it worked a treat as Holtby set up Sidwell to volley the west Londoners in front after 19 minutes.
United had to wait for the equaliser but it finally came in the 78th minute when Mata’s cross/shot found Van Persie at the far post to tap home for 1-1. Michael Carrick’s deflected effort two minutes later looked to have given United a much-needed win, however, Bent was on hand to head home after De Gea had parred to claim a priceless point Fulham.
