By on February 16, 2014

The draw for the quarter finals of the FA Cup was made this afternoon and it’s thrown up some intriguing ties.

Manchester City eased into the next stage after beating Chelsea 2-0 at the Etihad last night thanks to goals from Steven Jovetic and Samir Nasri, and Manuel Pellegrini’s men have been rewarded with a home clash against Wigan Athletic, which is a replay of last years final.

Arsenal and Liverpool are just about to kick off their fifth round clash at the Emirates and the winners will take on Everton at home. The Toffees beat Swansea 3-1 at Goodison Park earlier today to ensure they were in the hat for the draw.

The draw also saw Brighton or Hull paired paired with Sunderland, while Sheffield United or Nottingham Forest will take on the winners of Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton.

The games will be played on the weekend of the 8th and 9th of March.
