[Video Highlights] Chelsea 1-0 Everton: Last Gasp Goal Sends Blues Four Clear

By on February 22, 2014

Chelsea needed a last minute winner to see off Everton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge this afternoon and open up a four point cushion at the top of the league.

The Toffees put in a stubborn display but were eventually undone when a 93rd minute Frank Lampard free-kick evaded everyone before Tim Howard spilled the ball into his own net while under pressure from John Terry. The goal was initially awarded to Terry before later being given to Lampard.

The result may have been a little harsh on Everton as they were excellent and matched Chelsea for much of the game, but the west Londoners take the three points and extend their lead at the top to four.
