Tottenham Hotspur beat Cardiff City 1-0 at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon to move to within four points of the top four.

Spurs opened the scoring midway through the first half when Emmanuel Adebayor found strike partner Roberto Soldado in the box and the Spaniard calmly poked home from 12 yards. That turned out to be the winning goal as neither side could add to the scoreline and the hosts ran out 1-0 winners.

The win sees Tottenham move to within four points of Manchester City, but the Citizens have got two games in hand.
