We get back to Premier League action this weekend following the international break and the big game comes at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea entertain Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.
The Blues had several players away on international duty this week and the only one who appears to have picked up a problem is Eden Hazard. The winger received a kick to his ankle during Belgium’s 2-2 draw with Ivory Coast after coming on as a second half substitute but he said after the game he hopes to be okay to face Spurs.
Other than that Jose Mourinho has few injury worries to contend with. David Luiz played for Brazil yesterday along with team mates Oscar, Ramires and Willian and they are all likely to play a part on Saturday – although Luiz may not feature from the start.
Andre Schurrle will be hoping to retain his place after scoring a hat-trick against Fulham last weekend, however, Mourinho may revert back to his usual front three of Oscar, Hazard and Willian. Fernando Torres is expected to be given the nod ahead of Samuel Eto’o up front.
Tottenham also had their fair share of players away with their countries this week but Tim Sherwood has a number of injuries to worry about. Kyle Walker was forced to pull out of the England squad with an on-going hip problem but the right-back is hoping to pass a late fitness test to start.
Zeki Fryers also had to withdraw from the England under-21 squad so Kyle Naughton may have to switch over to left-back with Danny Rose also out. Sherwood already has Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches on the sidelines so he has few options at the back.
Aaron Lennon is likely to start ahead of Andros Townsend on the right side of midfield while Emmanuel Adebayor is likely to spearhead the attack alone with Sherwood opting for a more defensive formation away at Chelsea.
