Ligue 1 Champions Plot Ambitious €50m Move For Chelsea Playmaker

Chelsea are bracing themselves for a €50m (£41.5m) offer from Paris Saint-Germain for Brazilian playmaker Oscar this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The January transfer window may have slammed shut but clubs will still be working hard behind the scenes at identifying targets for the summer, so we’ll bring you all the latest news, gossip and rumours. Today, PSG are linked with Oscar.

Chelsea are bracing themselves for a sensational €50m (£41.5m) offer from Paris Saint-Germain for Brazilian playmaker Oscar this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Oscar has impressed in an attacking midfield role at Stamford Bridge since making a £25m move from Internacional in the summer of 2012, and it seems he’s now attracting interest from across the channel.

The Mail claims that the Ligue 1 champions have dispatched scouts to keep a close eye on the Brazilian international in recent weeks, and are now mulling over whether to make a big-money swoop for the 22-year-old with a decision expected to be made before the end of the season.

PSG are backed by billionaire Qatari owners so have the finances to put together a package that may be able to lure Oscar to France, while a €50m (£41.5m) bid would also be very tempting to Chelsea – despite him being an important first team player – as it would represent a huge profit on their investment.

However, the attacker still has three years remaining on his contract, so the Blues are under no pressure to sell, and boss Jose Mourinho is unlikely to want to see one of his key men leave.

Along with Belgian sensation Eden Hazard, Oscar has become an important part of the Premier League leaders attacking set-up this season, scoring 9 goals in 38 appearances so far, so I really don’t see Chelsea agreeing to sell him if PSG do come calling this summer.
