Arsenal have confirmed that our FA Cup semi final against Wigan Athletic at Wembley will be shown live on ITV on Saturday the 12th April, at a 5pm kick off.

We eased into the semi final’s with a 4-1 win over Everton at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon thanks to goals from Mesut Ozil, Mikel Arteta (penalty) and a late double from Olivier Giroud.

Sunday’s draw paired us with the winner of Manchester City vs Wigan. Although it was a repeat of last years final, where Wigan pulled off one of the greatest FA Cup shocks of all time, obviously City were still the red-hot favourites to progress.

However, the Latics stunned Manuel Pellegrini’s men by running out 2-1 victors at the Etihad to book their place at Wembley, where they will now face Arsenal on Saturday April 12th.

With Hull City and Sheffield United contesting the other semi-final, Arsenal are the clear favourites to win the FA Cup this season and it has to be said we’ve been presented with a golden opportunity to end our long wait for a trophy.

While the Wigan clash and subsequent final against either Hull or Sheffield United will still be difficult games, it will come as a huge blow to the club if we can’t finish the job having already beaten Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton en route to the semi’s.

If we focus and put in professional performances, we should be able to win these two games and bring the FA Cup back to the Emirates. I dread to think of the kind of abuse Wenger will receive from some fans if we fail to do so….
