Arsenal entertain Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening in a vital clash at the top of the table. Here, Gooner Mac gives us his predicted team for the game.

We were below par against Swansea on Tuesday and threw away two points after conceding a last minute equaliser. Ideally, I’m sure Arsene Wenger would like to make a few changes for the visit of City, but his options are limited due to the number of first team players on the treatment table.

Laurent Koscielny remains out with a calf injury so Thomas Vermaelen will continue alongside Per Mertesacker at the back, and with Nacho Monreal also still unavailable with a foot injury, Kieran Gibbs will remain at left-back.

Unfortunately we have few options to change things up in midfield as Aaron Ramsey is still ‘a few weeks’ away from returning, according to Arsene Wenger, while Jack Wilshere will be lucky to play again this season. Kim Kallstrom did make a very impressive cameo appearance in midweek but I think it would be a huge risk to start him against City. So Arsene is likely to go with Mikel Arteta and Matheiu Flamini again.

Lukas Podolski played himself into contention for a recall with a match-changing substitute appearance against Swansea, scoring one and setting up the other. However, the boss has rarely trusted him in the big games and I think the German will find himself being used as an impact sub again this weekend.

With Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil also injured, I think we’ll see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky lining-up in attack again. Many fans have been calling for Yaya Sanogo to replace Olivier Giroud up front and while Oli has certainly not been at his best in recent weeks, I don’t think Wenger will drop him for such a big game.

So here’s my predicted team for the game:

What do you think of my team? What line-up would you pick? Share your views below….

    I am very sorry I do not agree with that formation that have been given. In my opinion Arteta should be out and the Swede should come in. As regards The Ox and Bnagry should be playing instead of Giraud because they are agile and not afraid to take a shot a goal and also capable of passing the ball forward and not backwards to show their wonderful skills on passing the ball from to another

    Arsenal or rather Mr Wenger should show that Arsenal are capable of moving forward and not passing the ball backwards which give the opposing team to form and steady their defensive deficiencies.

    Roscisky is an asset because when he come in he is capable of doing the unexpected although his passing is sometimes erratice.

    Hope we shall be able to Man City. ??????

    I don’t like the line up. I would prefer more pace. Sanogo for Giroud is just plain stupid. Vinceent Company would eat the kid for a half-time snack.

    I would prefer;
    Gibbs, Vrmaelen, Mertesacker, Gibbs
    Flamini Chamberlain
    Podolski, Czorla, Gnabry

      Sorry, typos;

      Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs
      Chamberlain, Flamini
      Gnabry, Cazorla, Podolski

      Subs; Fabianski, Kallstrom, Rosicky, Arteta, Ballerin, Jenkinson, Zelalem

      We need pace and goals in this one. Or, we need to sit deep and counter. In that case, I’d go with Kallstrom and Flamini with Ox up front in place of Gnabry. I might even consider using Jenkinson on the right, Sagna in the middle, and putting Vermaelen and Kallstrom or Flamini in the middle of the park to screen the back 4.

    My line up is

    Let giroud come on on sixty minutes. He is a gd impact sub. Nd sub the Ox on 70 minutes for gnabry. Pace is essential. Let kallstrom and flamini shield the back four. And the full backs to not rush forward often. Man city are a completely different opponent. And our full backs don’t track back. They better stay behind and frustrate city. Then we have a great chance of knocking them off. Cause they will commit mistakes.

    Our attack need pace! And Giroud can’t give us that.

    And who told u that Giroud is strong enough to hold kompany? Epileptic striker! That Falls like Fool.

    Flamini needs to be on the bench, if he picks up a yellow card (making 10 for the season) he will be banned for 2 games and thereby miss the semi-final!!!!!

    Kaalstroom Flamini
    Rosisky Cazorla Gnabry

    You must address City’s playmakers, All you have on the bench is Ox and Arteta, and they can replace any of the wingers or cazorla anytime after half time.
