Torres Starts – Predicted Chelsea Starting XI To Face Stoke

Fernando Torres vs Leicester

Chelsea will look to put a disappointing week behind them as they welcome Stoke City to Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening. Here is our predicted line-up for the game.

Jose Mourinho was furious with his sides performance during their 3-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday and he’s expected to make a few changes for this weekends game.

The Portuguese coach has expressed his frustration at ‘not having any strikers’ in recent weeks and with Samuel Eto’o still struggling with a hamstring injury, it looks like Fernando Torres is likely to start up front. The Spaniard looked low on confidence in midweek after Mourinho opted to start winger Andre Schurrle ahead of him up front, but the Blues will be hoping Torres rediscovers his form on Saturday.

The back five is likely to remain unchanged with Ashley Cole still nursing an injury while David Luiz could be left out after a difficult night in Paris. Nemanja Matic will be recalled after being ineligible to face PSG and he could be joined by veteran Frank Lampard in midfield with Ramires serving the third of his three-match ban.

Mohamed Salah is pushing for a rare start but we think Mourinho will opt to go with his trusted attacking trio of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Willian in the hope they can gain some much-needed confidence ahead of the second leg against PSG on Tuesday.

Here’s the side we think Jose will select this weekend:
