As we approach the business end of the season clubs are starting to make plans for the summer transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, could Chelsea be forced to sell one of their key men?

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho may be forced to sell the likes of Eden Hazard or Oscar to help fund summer moves for Diego Costa and Mario Mandzukic, according to the Mirror.
Mourinho has made it clear he’s in the market for new options up front after voicing his frustration at not having any ‘real strikers’ in his squad several times in recent months.
The Portuguese coach has supposedly been given the go-ahead to offload all four of his current crop this summer, with Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba all expected to leave, while Romelu Lukaku is also surplus to requirements with Everton and Tottenham among those interested.
It’s also reported that Jose is looking to sell David Luiz to either PSG or Bayern Munich for around £35m but those sales wont be able to raise enough money to fund Chelsea’s ambitious plans in the transfer market this summer.
The Mirror claim that Mourinho wants to sign both Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa and Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandzukic to solve his striker problems, Luke Shaw is being eyed as a replacement for Ashley Cole while a move for Everton’s Ross Barkley is also on the agenda.
However, the newspaper suggests that the Blues boss has been told he needs to raise further cash to help fund his plans as the club needs to try and stay within UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules, which could mean one of Eden Hazard or Oscar will need to be sacrificed.
Despite making £37m from the sale of Juan Mata to Manchester United in January, the report states that Chelsea still spent a net £62m this season which is an unsustainable amount if they want to fall in line with UEFA’s new guidelines, so a star player will have to be sold this summer if Mourinho want’s to land all of his top targets.
Selling Hazard seems totally out of the question but there’s no denying he is Chelsea’s most valuable asset and his sale would go a long way to financing moves for the likes of Costa, Mandzukic and Shaw, so Jose could see it as being a sacrifice worth making for the overall good of the squad.
Mourinho clearly has issues with his strikers while he’s being forced to play Cesar Azpilicueta out-of-position at left-back, so you could argue the team would be a lot stronger if they sold Hazard and brought in Costa, Mandzukic and Shaw.
I would still be majorly surprised if the West Londoners agreed to offload Hazard, but it’s going to be interesting to see how they fund Mourinho’s ambitious plans this summer.

What a ridiculous article. Chelsea are much more likely to sell/swap any or all of these; Ba, Bertrand, Cole, Kakuta, Lakaku, Luiz, Marin, McEchran, Mikel, Moses, or Torres! the sale or use of these players as makeweights could bring in £80M+ worth of players. You forget to highlight that Chelsea are currently operating within FFP rules when other premeiership teams are not.

But why keep Oscar? 9 out of 10 games he’s little more than useless to the team.

Selling ED7 will be a disaster to chelsea football club, they rather sell any of Rami or Oscar than selling our best player who could soon become the Best player on the planet.

You clearly haven’t been watching Oscar, he’s either not very good, not happy, or just not suited to the English game. Whichever it is, most of the time he’s like a ghost on the field. Just watch him over the remainder of the season: his tackling is poor; his shooting rare & goals rarer still; his passes regularly don’t get to their target, hence his set-up rate is appalling for an attacking midfielder. You’ve been pulled in by the hype, now go check the stats & watch the boy, it’s like playing with 10 men.

You clearly know nothing about football. Oscar is sbsolute talent, he’s the reason Mata was sold and he’s also Brazil’s no.10. All this and he is still only 22. You look rather stupid
