New Twist Could See £12m Attacker Seal ‘Dream’ Move This Summer

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs have been put on alert to the potential availability of Younes Belhanda – who’s dreaming of moving to England

As we approach the business end of the season clubs are starting to make plans for the summer transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd and Spurs are linked with Younes Belhanda.

Younes-Belhanda

A number of Premier League clubs have been placed on alert after Montpellier chairman Louis Nicollin claimed they are trying to cancel the sale of attacker Younes Belhanda to Dynamo Kiev in 2013, according to Sky Sports News.

The former French champions sold the Moroccan winger to Dynamo last summer but Nicollin claims the Ukrainians have failed to pay the transfer fee which has led to them asking UEFA to cancel the move.

If their request is upheld and Belhanda returns to Montpellier, Nicollin has suggested the club would then look to sell him to another club this summer:

“Kiev have not paid the whole transfer fee,”

“We have notified UEFA, so it is possible that Younes could come back and be sold somewhere else.” Nicollin is quoted as saying by Sky Sports

This twist is likely to be of interest to the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham, who were strongly linked with the attacking midfielder last summer before he moved to Dynamo and have reportedly retained their interest.

Nicollin’s comments come just days after Belhanda spoke out about his ‘dream’ of making a move to the Premier League and while Liverpool were among the clubs he singled out, the 24-year-old admitted Arsenal would be his favoured destination.

Belhanda was quoted as saying by the Express on Tuesday:

“How long will I stay at Dynamo? I don’t know. If I have opportunities to go higher, I will seize them,”

“I am dreaming about England. Every player wants to play in England one day. I have to experience that.

“My favourite club? Arsenal, of course. It is the club of Frenchmen. Newcastle as well, but they are a step below. Manchester City and Liverpool are exciting too.

“There are so many clubs with big histories. That is England.”

Belhanda has been in fine form in Ukraine, scoring 5 goals and setting up 3 others in his 16 appearances so far for Kiev, but it looks like complications with the payment of his transfer could see him looking for another club this summer.

Reports have suggested he could be available for around £12m, which is a fee that is easily attainable for the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, United or Spurs. The player is clearly open to moving to England and it appears the Gunners are in pole position if Arsene Wenger is still keen on bringing him to north London.
