[Teams] Man Utd vs Norwich: Giggs Names Experienced First Line-up

By on April 26, 2014

Manchester United entertain Norwich City at Old Trafford this evening in what will be Ryan Giggs’ first game in charge since replacing David Moyes earlier this week.

The Welshman hasn’t named himself in the squad this evening, with the 40-year-old preferring to concentrate on his managerial duties from the touchline.

Giggs has opted to name experienced defenders Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand at the back along with Patrice Evra and Phil Jones. Tom Cleverley starts in midfield along with Shinji Kagawa and Danny Welbeck, but Juan Mata has dropped to the bench while there is no place for Adnan Januzaj or Marouane Fellaini in the squad.

Here are the confirmed line-ups:

Man Utd

De Gea; Jones, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra; Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Kagawa; Welbeck, Rooney

Subs: Lindegaard, Smalling, Mata, Chicharito, Nani, Young, Fletcher.

Ruddy; Whittaker, Martin, Turner, Olsson; Johnson; Fer, Howson; Snodgrass; Redmond, Van Wolfswinkel.

Subs: Bunn, Hooper, Gutierrez, Elmander, R Bennett, Tettey, Josh Murphy.
