Wenger Offers Wilshere Injury Update…

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed midfielder Jack Wilshere is back in training but can’t say for certain he’ll play again this season.

Wilshere has been on the sidelines since fracturing a bone in his foot following a heavy challenge from Liverpool’s Daniel Agger during England’s friendly with Denmark at Wembley in early March.

The 22-year-old was initially expected to be back within six weeks but he’s already been out for eight and it seems is now in a race against time to play again this season.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger told Arsenal.com on Monday night that while Wilshere is now back in training, he’s refusing to give a possible comeback date, simply saying he hoped the midfielder would play again before the end of the season.

on Jack Wilshere….

Jack is training already. It can’t tell you when he will be ready. I hope he will be back this season but I can’t tell you that tonight

Arsene has previously hinted that Jack should be in contention for our last two games but it seems he’s now being more cautious. It’s clear the club don’t want to rush him back and it will now just be a case of building up his fitness and hope he doesn’t suffer any set backs.

Wenger gave the update following our 3-0 win over Newcastle last night which took us within touching distance of securing a top four place so we have little left to play for in the league. Ideally, Jack could get some minutes under his belt against Norwich on the final day or failing that, in the FA Cup final as he’s going to have to show Roy Hodgson he’s fit enough to make his World Cup squad.
