Rodgers Set To Pull Off Major Coup As Chelsea + Man Utd Target Agrees Anfield Move

Liverpool are set to pull off a major coup with Chelsea and Manchester United target Adam Lallana set to seal a £20m move to Anfield in the coming week.

As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Adam Lallana is set for a £20m move to Liverpool.

Liverpool are ready to pull off a major coup with Chelsea and Manchester United target Adam Lallana set to seal a £20m move to Anfield in the coming week, according to reports today.

Lallana has emerged as one of the most sought after attackers in the Premier League after an excellent season on the South Coast where his 9 goals helped Southampton secure a top-eight finish last season.

The 26-year-old’s scintillating performances have not only earned him a call-up into Roy Hodgson’s England squad for this summers World Cup final, they have also drawn attention from the upper echelons of the league with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all strongly linked with a move in recent months.

However, it appears Brendan Rodgers has pulled off a major coup with the Daily Star one of several outlets that are claiming Lallana has agreed to make a £20m switch to Anfield with the move expected to go through before the player reports for England duty on May 19th.

The report comes just hours after the BBC reported that Liverpool had tabled a formal bid to Southampton, so it certainly seems this transfer is moving at a pace. If the speculation proves accurate, then it will be a huge boost to Liverpool to beat their rivals to one of the most exciting English attackers and give the club a major boost heading into what promises to be a busy summer.

The Merseysiders narrowly missed out on their first league title in 24 years but with Champions League qualification secured, Rodgers is expected to be actively trying to bring in players this summer to build a squad capable of coping with the extra demand European football will bring.

Lallana would certainly be an excellent addition to an already talented squad and the player admitted after the Southampton of season awards ceremony yesterday that he was ready to play at the top level.

“I’m ambitious. I want to one day play in Champions League and compete for Premier League title.

“I got emotional [at the awards] because it’s a journey I couldn’t have dreamed of but i’m not saying this is the end by any means.

“There are going to be some decisions to make in the summer and maybe it all hit home a little bit when I was speaking.

“Every fan would realise there is big potential in our team and we have players who can go and play at a higher level.” Lallana is quoted as saying by the Star

It remains to be seen whether the likes of Chelsea or United will make a late bid to hijack the move, but for now it seems like Lallana is heading to Liverpool and will become their first major signing of the summer.

No he hasn’t you excuse for journalists. He has Said in the last 24 hours that he has some thinking to do over the summer. If Poch is give a good transfer kitty then he will stay and why not. They are at the start of something special and it is good for English football as a whole. The wider team at Southampton show what the beautiful game should be about rather than the paid mercaneries who won the premier league this year. Unfortunately corruption appears to be deeply rooted in football as at FIFA, UEFA, the FA and in sections of the media the emphasis is on bending the rules to keep the few at the top. Hence the mockery of the World Cup selection process, the ‘fair play’ (what a joke) rules and the mail and mirrors vendetta against a team that is actually trying to change English football for the better. Stay where you are Adam and you will achieve your aims.

Bwahahhahhahaa if you say so but you’re only convinsing yourself & your clubs fans i’m afraid. If this & why’s that & it’s all corrupt & blah blah blah!! Lallana isn’t a teenager or a player making too big a step up or even taking a step too soon! He’s a 26yr old showing a consistent level of quality that proves he’s ready to take this step in his stride & compete at a level which Southampton can’t offer him & whether you like it or not, he’s got every right to seek a move if LFC make a firm bid. Also, although Southampton isn’t in debt, don’t fool yourself into thinking that you’re no longer a selling club, that’s as good as mugging yaself off mate!

    Ian…what are you smoking?

I like Southampton as much as the next man, but he made it clear that he wants to play in the CL. Do you honestly think that that is a realistic possibility at Southampton. If Pochettino goes – which he probably will – you’ll be fighting to stay out of the bottom three, let alone into the top four.

Ian dude I agree. I’m an lfc fan and I feel for u. Like brendon we support English talent clubs and players. I also think Ffp is a fk joke and this kind of financial corruption is not sustainable. However if lallana went to any club surely u cannot object to lfc as u know the lad will be well taken care of here you know as an honest soton fan it would be churlish to have a go at him for wanting to try his hand at cl.
