Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is the latest manager to show an interest in MK Dons starlet Dele Alli and is ready to battle Arsenal and Liverpool for the midfielders signature this summer, according to reports today.

Alli has been with MK Dons his entire career so far having joined the club as a teenager and he came through the youth ranks before making his first team debut aged just sixteen back in 2012.

The 18-year-old established himself as a first team regular last season and made 30 appearances for Karl Robinson’s side, scoring seven goals and providing a further four for his team mates.

His impressive displays in League One appear to have attracted interest from the upper echelons of the Premier League with the Express claiming that Arsenal and Liverpool have been making regular checks on the midfielders progress over the past 12 months after making initial enquiries last summer and they are expected to renew their interest when the transfer window re-opens.

However, it appears the duo will now have to fight off competition from Chelsea with the newspaper suggesting that Jose Mourinho has also been alerted to Alli’s potential and could now try and lure the youngster to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Liverpool were understood to be the favourites for Alli’s signature after Brendan Rodgers made a personal check on the player during MK Dons 3-3 draw with Wigan in the FA Cup, and Karl Robinson admitted after the game that he talks to the Reds boss about ‘different players all the time’.

“I know Brendan quite well and we speak about different players all the time.” Robinson is quoted as saying by the Express.

Alli is certainly an exciting prospect and has already been capped 9 times by the England under-17 squad, so it’s going to be extremely difficult for MK Dons to hang on to the player this summer if the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool come calling.

It’s not clear how much it may take for the League One outfit to cash-in but the midfielder is likely to jump at the chance to move to a bigger club if a deal is agreed. Obviously it would take some time before he makes an impression on the first team at whatever club he may end up at, as it’s not often a teenager moves from League One straight into the big time of the Premier League.

So Alli  will have to bide his time if he does secure a big-money move this summer and may even be sent out on loan for a year or two before he’s considered ready to push for a first team berth.
