Transfer News: £25m-Rated Attacker Hints At Summer Move
Antoine Griezmann has offered hope to Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United after hinting he could be open to a £25m move to a ‘big club’ this summer.
As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Antoine Griezmann has hinted at a big money move this summer.
Antoine Griezmann has offered hope to Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United after hinting he could be open to a £25m move to a ‘big club’ this summer, according to reports today.
Griezmann has emerged as one of the hottest properties in La Liga after an excellent season with Real Sociedad that’s seen him score 20 goals in 49 appearances so far this campaign, despite spending much of his time out on the wing.
The 23-year-old’s impressive form has understandably caught the eye of some of Europe’s top clubs with Arsenal, Liverool and Man Utd all understood to be showing an interest in luring him to the Premier League this summer.
The France international has now given the trio a boost after saying ‘let’s see what happens’ when he was quizzed about moving clubs this summer, but the attacker insists he won’t be considering his future until after the World Cup and if he does move it will be to a ‘big club’.
When asked about a possible transfer this summer, Griezmann said:
“I do not know, but first we have to play against Villarreal, then the World Cup and then we’ll see. I hope to have holidays and then we’ll see what happens,” Griezmann told AS.
“If one day I leave, it will be to move to a big club. But there is still a long time for that.”
“That’s something that the club and my agent will deal with.
“I’m here enjoying myself and we’ll see what can happen. I’m focused on playing.” Griezmann is quoted as saying by the Star
Griezmann has two years remaining on his current deal at the Anoeta and the Daily Star claim that Sociedad value him at around £25m, so any interested clubs are going to have to have deep pockets if they want to land the highly-rated attacker.
Arsene Wenger admitted back in March that he’s been keeping an eye on the players progress this season and with the Gunners boss expected to be in the market for attacking reinforcements this summer, a move for Griezmann could be on the cards.
Liverpool stepped up their interest in the French international after Brendan Rodgers sent scouts to watch him in action recently and the Reds boss is likely to be active in the market this summer as he looks to prepare for his clubs return to the Champions League next season, and Griezmann would certainly offer him plenty of options in attack if he was to make the move to Anfield.
United scout David Friio also revealed their clubs interest in the youngster but any official moves in the transfer market are unlikely until a permanent successor to David Moyes is appointed.
Griezmann has been named in Didier Deschamps final 23-man squad for this summers World Cup and a good showing in Brazil is not only going to increase the competition in his signature, but will also likely see his price-tag skyrocket, so the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and United may want to try and get a deal done quickly in order to avoid a potential bidding war.
