Arsenal To Offer Striker €225k-A-Week Deal Ahead Of Proposed €34m Move
Arsenal are ready to offer Mario Balotelli a contract worth €225,000-a-week to make a proposed €34m move to the Emirates this summer, according to reports today
As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Gooner Mac brings us news of Arsenal preparing a huge contract for Mario Balotelli.
Arsenal are ready to offer Mario Balotelli a contract worth €225,000-a-week to make a proposed €34m move to the Emirates this summer, according to reports today.
Balotelli has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks with widespread reports claiming Arsene Wenger has made the Italian international one of his key transfer targets as he looks to bring in a top class striker this summer and we are understood to be lining-up a €34m bid.
The 23-year-old is expected to be sold by AC Milan to ease their financial problems which weren’t helped by the fact they missed out on Champions League qualification last year, while Balotelli is thought to be keen on coming back to the Premier League after receiving racial abuse during his time back in Italy.
To add further fuel to the fire, the players agent Mino Raiola was quoted yesterday as calling Arsenal a ‘fantastic club’ and talking up the possibility of a transfer happening.
“Arsenal are a fantastic club,”
“Will a transfer happen? Anything is possible.” Raiola said according to the Mirror.
It now appears things are slowly moving forward with the Metro reporting today that Arsenal chief negotiator Richard Law has drawn up a contract worth a staggering €225,000-a-week (£180,000). Balotelli is currently on less than that figure at Milan, but the newspaper suggests that while the striker will be on a better basic rate, Arsenal will want a share of the players lucrative sponsorship rights.
With so much speculation around these days, it’s difficult to know what to believe but there certainly seems to be something in these Balotelli rumours and I hope the reports have some substance.
It’s clear we need to bring in at least one striker this summer as we were heavily reliant on Olivier Giroud last season and Balotelli would be an excellent signing. He’s a controversial character, but if anyone can tame him its Arsene Wenger and when he’s happy and content, Balotelli is a great talent.
We’ll have to see how things develop over the coming days and weeks and any potential deal will have to wait until Italy’s World Cup exploits are over, but fingers crossed we do all we can to bring Balotelli to the Emirates.
