Arsenal + Liverpool Make Offers To Alexis Sanchez As Wenger Holds Talks With Agent
Reports from Spain claim that Arsenal and Liverpool have made offers to Alexis Sanchez , with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger holding talks with the players agent.
As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, more on the future of Alexis Sanchez.
It seems it’s become a straight shoot-out between Arsenal, Liverpool and Juventus for Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez.
Reports from his native Chile suggest that Sanchez could be on the move this summer as he’s unsettled at the Nou Camp due to his frosty relationship with Lionel Messi and the attacker has supposedly instructed his agent to find him a new club.
New Barca boss Luis Enrique is understood to be open to the idea of cashing in as he doesn’t see Sanchez as a vital part of his new-look side next season, and understandably, the 25-year-old has attracted interest from a whole host of top European clubs.
Juventus have been strongly linked in recent weeks but reports in Italy suggest the Serie A champions are struggling to agree a fee and this appears to have left the door open for Premier League clubs to join the chase.
Speculation has intensified in recent days claiming that Liverpool have made enquiries for Sanchez but the Merseysiders pursuit of the attacker is complicated by Barcelona’s interest in Luis Suarez, and there has been talk of a player-plus-cash swap deal being put forward, but obviously Brendan Rodgers is desperate to try and keep hold of his Uruguayan hitman.
However, it looks like Liverpool now face stiff competition from within the Premier League as several reports suggest that Arsenal have entered the race. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio states that the north Londoners pose a real threat to Juve’s chances of signing the player as they have the ‘economic resources’ to buy him.
Spanish outlet Candena COPE take it a step further by reporting that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger met with Sanchez’s agent after the recent Chile v Spain game over in Brazil, while the agency also claims that Sanchez now has offers on the table from both Arsenal and Liverpool. This is from their official Twitter account:

By the sounds of it, Arsenal and Liverpool have put offers forward to the player, but no fee has been agreed with Barca as yet. Reports suggest the Catalans are looking for anywhere between £20m and £30m – depending on which newspaper you read – but even at £30m he would be a great buy.
It’s certainly gearing up to be an intriguing battle for Sanchez, who is fast becoming one of the most sought-after players on the market this summer, and it easy to see why. The attacking midfielder may not be regarded as a vital member of the Barcelona squad but he still chipped in with 21 goals and 15 assists last season, which is an excellent return by anyone’s standard.
There’s little doubt he’d be a superb buy for either Arsenal and Liverpool, and with Juventus seemingly struggling to finance a deal, it looks like there’s a strong possibility Sanchez could be heading for the Premier League. The big question is whether it will be the Emirates or Anfield he’s going to….
