Arsenal Ready To Make Stunning €55m Bid For Key Manchester United Target
Arsenal are preparing a stunning €55m (£44m) bid for long-term Man Utd target Arturo Vidal as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his midfield options this summer
As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Arsenal are linked with Arturo Vidal.
Arsenal are preparing a sensational €55m (£44m) bid for long-term Manchester United target Arturo Vidal as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his midfield options this summer, according to reports today.
Vidal has become one of the most sought-after midfielders in Europe after playing a key role in helping Juventus to three successive Serie A titles since joining the club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011.
His all-action displays at the heart of Antonio Conte’s team mean he’s now considered one of the best all-round midfield players in the game, and understandably it’s led to him being linked with a big-money move away from Juve in recent transfer windows.
Manchester United were strongly linked with Vidal last summer and recent reports have suggested that Louis van Gaal is ready to renew the clubs interest with a €37.5m (£30m) bid over the coming weeks after making him one of his key targets.
However, it appears Arsenal are ready to blow United out the water with the Metro citing reports from his native Chile that claim the Gunners are preparing a stunning €55m (£44m) offer for the 27-year-old.
Boss Arsene Wenger has been quiet so far this summer but is expected to be busy in the transfer window as he looks to build upon the clubs FA Cup success last season, and central midfield is an area he’s likely to strengthen.
Mikel Arteta started to look his age last season and with reports suggesting he could be heading to Atheltic Bilbao as a replacement for United’s new signing Ander Herrera, it looks like Vidal has emerged as a key target for the Frenchman and he has the money to finance a deal after being handed a £100m kitty this summer.
The Chile international is predominantly a box-to-box midfielder and has an impressive record of 28 goals in 95 games for Juventus but he’s equally adept at playing more of a holding role in front of the defence. It’s not going to be easy to persuade Juventus to sell one of their key men, but a bid of €55m is sure to tempt the Serie A giants to cash-in, and he’d certainly add some much-needed power and strength to the Gunners midfield if they were able to lure Vidal to the Emirates.
