Premier League TV Schedule: Sky + BT Announce Early Season Live Games

Sky Sports and BT Sport have announced their live fixtures for August to November and as expected, the big-guns feature heavily in the early season games.

With the 2014 World Cup now over, thoughts quickly turn to the start of the Premier League season and Sky Sports and BT Sport have announced their live fixtures for August through to November.

As expected, the big-guns feature heavily in the scheduling with Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea all picked to be shown live on the opening weekend of the new season.

Louis van Gaal has been handed a seemingly kind start to his era as manager if Manchester United’s first few fixtures are anything to go by, and BT Sport will be showing the Dutchman’s first game when United welcome Swansea City to Old Trafford on Saturday 16th August, kicking off at 12.45pm.

Arsenal are then up first on Sky Sports with their clash against Crystal Palace at the Emirates being broadcast live kicking off at 5.30pm on Saturday evening when Gooners will hope to get their first glimpse of new signing Alexis Sanchez in competitive action.

Liverpool’s game against Southampton will also be aired live on Sky Sports at 1.30pm on Sunday 17th, when Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert will come face-to-face with their former club.

Defending champions Manchester City will be up next as their visit to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle United will be shown at 4pm on Sunday, while Chelsea complete an exciting opening weekend fixture list when they take on newly promoted Burnley on Monday night.

In total, Sky Sports will be showing at least three live Premier League matches each week which equates to 43 live matches before the end of November, but BT Sport have arguably got the ‘key’ fixtures during the early season stages.
