Liverpool are closing in on three new signings with Loic Remy and Divock Origi set to fly out to America to undergo medical’s this week ahead of moves to Anfield while a £16m deal to sign Dejan Lovren from Southampton is also close, according to reports today.

The Reds have been strongly linked with Remy over the past few days and the Guardian claim that the French striker is now due to fly over to Boston – where Liverpool have just landed for the first leg of their pre-season tour – today to have his medical before completing an £8m switch from Queens Park Rangers.

The 27-year-old has just enjoyed an excellent season on loan at Newcastle where he scored 14 goals in 26 games but he’s keen to be back playing in the Champions League and it looks like he’s about to get that chance with Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers is also closing in on the signing of young Belgian striker Divock Origi and the Guardian also claim the 18-year-old is set to fly out to the US to have his medical this week.

Origi held talks with Liverpool officials and was shown around the clubs facilities last week and it’s understood he’s informed Lille that he wants to make the move to Anfield, despite interest from several other teams.

Liverpool are believed to have already agreed a £10m fee with the Ligue 1 outfit but under the terms of the agreement, the young striker will return to Lille on loan next season before linking up with his new team mates in the summer of 2015.

And it could be a stunning triple swoop by Liverpool this week with widespread reports suggesting the club are now closing in on a £16m deal to sign Southampton defender Dejan Lovren.

Rodgers has been chasing the Croatian all summer but initially struggled to persuade the Saints to part company with the centre-back. However, new boss Ronald Koeman confirmed the 25-year-old could leave for the right price and has lined-up Aston Villa’s Ron Vlaar as a potential replacement.

“I don’t want to lose him but, if he leaves he will only go for a top price,”

“Ron would definitely be an option but I think he won’t be cheap right now. We just have to wait and see how it develops.” Koeman is quoted as saying by the Guardian

Should Lovren complete the move, he’ll become the third player to swap St Mary’s for Anfield this summer following on from Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert – who joined the Merseysiders last month.

Lovren has just come off the back of an excellent debut season in the Premier League following his move from Lyon last summer and he played a key role in helping Southampton to an eighth-placed finish last term.

So it’s gearing up to be another busy week at Liverpool with three more signings on the cards. If all go through successfully, it would take their summer business to seven new additions and Rodgers would still have plenty left in the kitty to make even more signings, so they are certainly showing plenty of ambition in the transfer market this summer.
