[Video Goals] Chelsea 2-1 Olimpija: Costa Scores Stunner But Torres Misses Sitter

By on July 27, 2014

Chelsea beat Olimpija Ljubljana 2-1 in a friendly in Slovenia on Sunday evening with Diego Costa and Kurt Zouma both getting on the score-sheet.

The hosts took the lead just before half time when Nik Kapun fired high into the net but it wasn’t long before the Blues got back on level terms and it was Costa who got himself off the mark.

The Spaniard was sent clear by fellow new recruit Cesc Fabregas and smashed home a powerful effort for 1-1 in the 54th minute. Just 10 minutes later and Chelsea took the lead when Kurt Zouma was on hand to poke home after Fernando Torres’ shot was saved.

Torres then pulled off one of the most shocking misses you’re likely to see, as he someone managed to send the ball over the bar from 2 yards with an opening goal gaping.

Chelsea now head off to Holland for a pre-season training camp. Watch the goals here.
