Arsenal Or Man Utd Could Snap Up World Class Attacker For Just €25m
The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have been alerted to the news that Marco Reus has a buy-out clause worth just €25m, according to reports
The summer transfer window is now well under way and managers are working hard to strengthen their squads ahead of next season, so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd have been alerted to Marco Reus’ buy-out clause.
The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have been alerted to the news that Marco Reus has a buy-out clause worth just €25m, according to reports in Germany.
Reus is one of the most wanted attackers in world football after enjoying two excellent seasons at Borussia Dortmund following his move from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2012, with the winger chipping in with 42 goals in 90 appearances for Jugen Klopp’s side.
However, the 25-year-old’s future has been cast in doubt in recent weeks following reports that he’s turned down a contract extension offer at the Westfalenstadion, and understandably this has led to speculation linking him with a move this summer.
Reports last month suggested that Arsenal had a deal in place to sign Reus before he picked up an injury just before the World Cup, while Liverpool and Manchester United have also been strongly linked with a move for the German international.
The Premier League trio have now been boosted by the news coming from German publication Bild which claims Reus will be available for around £20m next summer as his buy-out clause is set at just 25m Euro’s.
Initially, it had been thought that the attacker’s buy-out clause – which only comes in to effect in the summer of 2015 – was nearer €30m (£25m), but the newspaper suggests the actual figure is much lower making him an even more appealing proposition.
If no contract extension is agreed before next summer then Dortmund are going to almost certainly lose Reus and it will be interesting to see where he’d end up as you’d expect all the major clubs in Europe to be interested in signing such a talent for just £20m – which is an absolute bargain in today’s over inflated market.
Reus would be a sensational coup for any of Arsenal, Liverpool or United if they were able to pull it off but the big fear is that the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich will swoop in and lure him away.
We’ll have to see how things develop but as it stands, it looks like Reus will be one of the most in-demand players in the world next summer and I just hope we see him come to England as he’d be an excellent addition to the Premier League.
