[Video Goals] Manchester City 3-1 Liverpool: Jovetic Double Sinks Reds

Manchester City beat Liverpool 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night thanks to a double from Steven Jovetic.

The visitors started the better of the two sides but failed to make their dominance pay and it was City who found the breakthrough as Jovetic beat Alberto Moreno to the ball before firing past Simon Mignolet for 1-0 just before half time.

The Montenegrin international then doubled City’s advantage shortly after the break before Sergio Aguero came off the bench to make it 3-0 in the 70th minute. Liverpool grabbed a late consolation when Pablo Zabaleta put through his own net under pressure from Rickie Lambert but City held on to secure a vital three points.

The win moves Manuel Pellegrini’s men into second place behind only Tottenham on goal difference. Watch the goals here:
