Arsenal take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon looking to get back to winning ways after last weeks draw at Everton.

Ahead of the game, Arsene Wenger has been speaking at his pre-match press conference today and gave Arsenal.com a team news and injury update with the latest on Aaron Ramsey, Kieran Gibbs, Mikel Arteta, David Ospina and Serge Gnabry.

The boss confirmed that Arteta will once again miss out as the skipper continues to recover from an ankle knock that’s kept him out in recent weeks. The Spaniard will join Gibbs on the sidelines with the full-back also out with a hamstring strain. However, both players are expected to return to the squad after the international break.

The good news is that Ramsey is back in the squad and available for selection having served his one-game European ban in midweek, but Gnabry is still ‘nowhere near’ ready for action yet as he continues to recover from injury.

Summer signing Ospina is back in full training after recovering from a thigh problem that he picked up at the World Cup, but the Colombian isn’t expected to be in the squad for Sunday’s trip to Leicester.

Here’s what Arsene told the clubs website:

on Arteta, Gibbs and Ramsey…

Arteta will certainly be short for Sunday. Kieran Gibbs as well. I don’t think we have any injuries from Wednesday night against Besiktas. Ramsey is available again because he was suspended against Besiktas. He will come back into the squad.

on Ospina and Gnabry…

David Ospina is now back to full training [and] is available again. Maybe he’s a bit short for Sunday but he’s back. Serge Gnabry is on a good way but is nowhere near to being back in the group.

Obviously Olivier Giroud is out for the foreseeable future but Theo Walcott is expected back in full training next week, so the England winger should be in contention to return to the squad after the international’s.
