[Video Goals] Chuba Akpom Scores Classy Double For U21’s In 2-0 Win Over Villa

Highly-rated Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom continued his early-season form with a well taken brace during a 2-0 win for the Under-21’s over Aston Villa at Villa Park tonight.

Akpom has been in excellent form already this term and opened the scoring in the 28th minute when he robbed a Villa defender of possession before powering in on goal, rounding the keeper before cooly slotting home for 1-0 in the 28th minute.

The 18-year-old then sealed the three points for Arsenal with five minutes remaining when he latched on to a superb through-ball from Gideon Zelalem to hold off a challenge before finding the bottom corner to make it 5 goals in just 4 appearances in the Under-21 league this campaign.

Akpom is certainly one of the players knocking on Arsene Wenger’s door for a chance in the first team, but with Danny Welbeck recently signed, the young striker may have to wait a little longer for his chance.
