Manchester United will look to kick start their season when they take on Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. Here’s the line-up I think Louis van Gaal will go with.

Goalkeeper: There is little doubt that David De Gea will start in goal for the game as long as he’s fit.

Defence: Van Gaal has limited options in defence as Phil Jones has been ruled out for four weeks with a hamstring injury and he joins Chris Smalling on the sidelines. Marcos Rojo will come in to replace the England international after finally been granted his visa, so the Argentine will likely start alongside Tyler Blackett and Jonny Evans at the back.

Midfielder: Rafael is fit again so could start in the right wing-back position ahead of Antonio Valencia, while Luke Shaw is also in the squad for the first time this season having recovered from a hamstring strain. van Gaal has confirmed the youngster isn’t fit enough to do the whole ninety minutes yet, so he’ll likely be substituted if he does start. Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini remain out injured so Daley Blind could come in to start in midfield alongside Ander Herrera.

Attack: It’s going to be extremely interesting to see how van Gaal lines-up in attack for this game. Radamel Falcao has declared himself fit so you’d expect he’ll start while Angel Di Maria is almost a certainty to retain his place, meaning Juan Mata could miss out. That could leave just one spot up for grabs and being captain, Wayne Rooney is favourite to start ahead of Robin van Persie.

Here’s how I think United will line-up against QPR:

What do you think of the team? What eleven would you start?
