I would replace Kaboul with Fazio, Dembele with Stambouli and Adebayor with Soldado, the later only because he seems to naturally link with Lamela and the two look like they have been playing together for years, I know we don’t need to play our strongest team against West Brom, but it is important, but it is easier games like this that your strongest team can set the pattern from future games

Poch has got to find a way to adjust for the weakness in the front end. This night be agood game to start Kane (or Soldado if he’s fit) and bring Ade in in the 2nd half. Letting Ade start won’t get us the results we want. Giving him 20 minutes in the 2nd hlaf will probably get better results. Fresh legs shoerter time, less pressure.

I would go with that selection but once we get into the season can see Fazio replacing Kaboul with Stambouli in for Chadli and Dembele being pushed further forward where he is more effective. Biggest problem as always is up top as we cannot rely on any of the strikers at the moment.

I’d like to see Soldado leading the attack. Eriksen & Lamela will benefit much more with Roberto up front. This would be a great opportunity to give this threesome the chance to really gel before we take on the bigger teams.

davies 4 rose are you kidding? have you been watching the games this season? think this is more or less the first 11 at the moment and anyone wanting to break into it will need to show consistent good form in the cup matches. a settled side is more important than shoehorning players in because they look to be better options. Expect Fazio and Stambouli to become regulars eventually (at whose expense only time will tell.)

MOST SPURS FANS PROBLY WOULD LIKE TO SEE FAZIO IN THE DEFENCE WITH VERTONGHEN INCLUDING MYSELF BUT IF KABOUL GETS THE NOD I CAN SEE THAT MP HAS ASSURED FAZIO THAT HIS TIME IS CLOSE ONCE KABOUL GETS POOR AND WE ALL KNOW HE WILL FAZIO WILL BE TOLD TAKE YOUR CHANCE AND HOLD IT DOWN LETS BE PATIENT .

I think we may need to switch things up a little I don’t think the 4-2-3-1 works for us I mean sometimes we produce utter brilliance. But I think we need a little more than sometimes. We need attacking flair. My immediate response is to play 4-3-3 or maybe even 4-3-3 (False 9). However I think the latter would require calling a certain German back in January.
If we are to play the standard 4-3-3 I think our team should be:
————————-Lloris————————
–Dier———-Fazio————-Vertonghen——Davies–
———————–Stambouli————————-
—————-Dembele——————————–
—————————–Eriksen———————
——–Lamela——————————-Chadli——-
————————Soldado————————–
The false 9 would be:
Lloris
Dier Fazio Vertonghen Davies
Stambouli
Dembele Holtby
Eriksen
Lamela Chadli
This is just my opinion but I think we would become a much better side with this formation.
