Debutant Zurt Zouma was on hand to put the Blues ahead in the 25th minute when he poked home from close range following a knock down from Loic Remy.
Bolton then levelled things up just five minutes later when Matt Mills headed home from a set piece but Oscar ensured Chelsea will be in the hat for the fourth round draw after firing home from 25 yards shortly after half time.
