Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw by Merseyside rivals Everton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds looked to be heading to a vital three points when Steven Gerrard scored a second half free-kick but Phil Jagielka lashed home a last minute stunner to rescue a point for the Toffees.

After the game, Daniel Sturridge took to Twitter to express his disappointment at letting two points slip away with the striker believing Liverpool were unfortunate not to see-out the victory.

The striker also gave an update on his injury situation with the 25-year-old missing the game yesterday due to a thigh injury that he picked up while away with the England squad earlier this month.

However, Sturridge has revealed that he’s edging closer to full fitness and he hopes to be back in the first team soon. It remains to be seen whether Wednesday’s trip to face Basel in the Champions League may come too soon but the striker should be passed fit to face West Brom next weekend.
