[Video Goals] Man Utd 2-1 Everton: Falcao Nets Winner After De Gea Penalty Save

By on October 5, 2014

Manchester United beat Everton 2-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon with Radamel Falcao scoring a second half winner.

United opened the scoring midway through the first half when Angel Di Maria curled home his third goal of the season after being teed-up by Juan Mata.

Everton had the perfect opportunity to level things up on the stroke of half time but Leighton Baines saw his penalty saved by the right hand of David De Gea.

The Toffees did eventually make it 1-1 when Steven Naismith headed home from close range early in the second half but United re-took the lead just minutes later when Radamel Falcao opened his account with a neat finish from a miss-hit Di Maria shot.

Neither side could add to the score-line so United hung on to register successive victories for the first time this season to move in to the top four.
