[Video Goals] Anderlecht 1-2 Arsenal: Late Gibbs & Podolski Goals Rescue Gunners

By on October 22, 2014

Arsenal needed two last gasp goals from Kieran Gibbs and Lukas Podolski to rescue a 2-1 win over Anderlecht in Brussels this evening.

A shock looked on the cards as the hosts took the lead when Andy Najar headed home from close range in the 71st minute.

Anderlecht had several chances to increase the score-line and secure the three points and were made to pay for some wayward finishing when Kieran Gibbs volleyed home a Calum Chambers cross in the 89th minute for 1-1.

Just over a minute later and Arsenal found an unlikely winner when Alexis Sanchez set up Lukas Podolski to fire home from close range and snatch the three points.

Bonaroca: This was one of the worse displays that I have watched and I Think
that at the end of the day it is the Manager who is responsible for all the
horrible distributions of the ball between the players which at one time was
    beyond belief by Arsenal standards.

Obviously,I wish Mr Wenger a very Happy birthday, which means that I was an
Arsenal supporter before he was born ( will be 83 in Jan). I( am an avid Mr
Wenger supporter but I think that he should have signed a CD and a MId/FD
