[Video Goals] Tottenham 1-2 Newcastle: Geordies Fight Back To Sink Spurs

By on October 26, 2014

Tottenham Hotspur let slip a one-goal lead at half time to slump to a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

Spurs looked comfortable during the opening 45 minutes and led thanks to an Emmanuel Adebayor header scored in the 18th minute from a lovey Mason assist.

However, the visitors came flying out the blocks after the break and Sammy Ambeobi equalised just seconds after coming on for the second half with a fine low finish past Hugo Lloris.

Newcastle then took the lead when young striker Ayoze Perez headed home a Remy Cabella cross following some excellent work from Moussa Sissoko just before the hour mark.

Tottenham pushed for an equaliser but couldn’t find a way through and Alan Pardew’s men held on to secure just their second victory of the Premier League season.
