Capital One Cup Quarter Final Draw: Chelsea & Liverpool Avoid Each Other

Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea all avoided each other as the draw for the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup took place tonight.

Chelsea booked their place in the last eight after a narrow 2-1 win away at League Two Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday night and they will now face another tricky trip to face Derby County after they beat Fulham 5-2.

Liverpool needed two late goals from Mario Balotelli and Dejan Lovren to come from a goal down to beat Swansea City at Anfield last night and Brendan Rodgers men will now travel to face Bournemouth in the last eight.

Tottenham eased past Brighton at White Hart Lane tonight thanks to goals from Erik Lamela and Harry Kane and they will now entertain Newcastle after they beat Man City 2-0 at the Etihad.

The other quarter final fixture sees Sheffield United host Southampton with all the games taking place the week commencing 15th December.
