By on November 1, 2014

Chelsea edged past West London rivals Queens Park Rangers 2-1 at Stamford Bridge this afternoon thanks to goals from Oscar and Eden Hazard.

The Blues opened the scoring in fine style when Oscar curled home a stunning goal with the outside of his right boot to make it 1-0 in the 32nd minute after being teed-up by Cesc Fabregas.

QPR then levelled things up just after the hour mark when Charlie Austin flicked home a miss-hit shot for 1-1. However, Chelsea grabbed the winner 10 minutes later when Eduardo Vargas was adjudged to half fouled Eden Hazard in the area when the two players went shoulder-to-shoulder. The Belgian stepped up to stroke home the resulting spot kick and secure the three points for the league leaders.
