Arsenal eased past Burnley 3-0 at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon with Alexis Sanchez bagging another brace while Calum Chambers opened his account for the club. Here are player ratings from Gooner Mac:

Szczesny 6/10 | A virtual bystander for most of the game, but did get lucky in the second half when he came charging out only for Ings to poke wide.

Chambers 8/10 | Excellent display from the youngster. Not only did he score his first goal for the club but he also grabbed an assist and was superb all afternoon down the right side.

Mertesacker 6/10 | One of the easiest afternoons he’ll have this season.

Monreal 6.5/10 | Looks like he’s growing into his central role. Was very composed today.

Gibbs 7/10 | Looked dangerous down the left flank and set up the third for Sanchez.

Flamini 6/10 | Game passed him by for large periods. Really don’t see the need to start him as well as Mikel Arteta at home to Burnley.

Arteta 6.5/10 | Still doesn’t look 100% fit yet but he kept things ticking over and was good in possession.

Oxlade-Chamberlain 7/10 | Was very lively in the first half and was unlucky not to get a couple of assists, but tired a little after the break.

Alexis 9/10 | Unplayable at times. His desire for the first goal was exemplary and he showed a cool head for his second. Sanchez’ work rate is phenomenal and he has the ability to match it. A legend in the making. MOTM

Cazorla 6.5/10 | His goal drought continues and his finishing left a lot to be desired. Missed two glorious opportunities to get on the score-sheet.

Welbeck 7/10 | Should have scored in the 13th minute but saw his shot blocked on the line, then had another shot blocked on the line before chambers scored. Worked hard as always.

Subs:

Ramsey 6/10 | Still looks off the pace but he did go close to scoring with a wonderful effort from the edge of the box.

Walcott 7/10 | Very encouraging cameo. Despite only being on for 10 minutes he almost got a goal and an assist. Great to have him back.

Podolski 7/10 | Forced a stunning stop from Heaton from a close range volley then nearly broke the bar with another strike soon after. Such a weapon of a left-foot.

We might have made hard work of it but it was a great overall performance in the end and we got three goals and a clean sheet, so it’s been a good days work. Anderlecht up next in the Champions League on Tuesday where we’ll be hoping for more of the same….
