Arsenal get back to Champions League action when we take on Anderlecht at the Emirates on Tuesday evening.

Ahead of the game, Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference and gave Arsenal.com a team news and injury update.

The boss has confirmed that Jack Wilshere wont feature after being ruled out through illness. The midfielder missed Saturday’s 3-0 win over Burnley due to a minor knee problem but was expected to return to training today and possibly be in contention to face Anderlecht.

However, it appears the 22-year-old has picked up a sickness bug and has therefore been ruled out of the game but Wenger feels he’ll be available again for the trip to Wales to take on Swansea at the weekend.

Otherwise, the boss feels he’s slowly getting his injured players back. Theo Walcott made his long-awaited return from a 10-month injury lay-off with an impressive cameo on Saturday while the likes of Mesut Ozil, Mathieu Debuchy and Olivier Giroud are also edging their way back to full fitness.

Wenger told the clubs website:

on Jack Wilshere…

He has been sick and he will not be involved tomorrow. Yes, [he should be fit for the weekend].

on any other team news…

The squad is exactly the same that played against Burnley.

on other injuries…

We had Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott, Mathieu Debuchy and Mesut Ozil injured but they are slowly all getting better. Theo is the first to come back but I believe we are at the end of the tunnel.

We head into the Anderlecht game knowing victory will seal qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League if Borussia Dortmund avoid also defeat against Galatasaray in the groups other fixture.
