van Gaal Makes 3 Changes: Predicted Man Utd Starting XI To Face Crystal Palace

Manchester United will look to bounce back from last weekends derby disappointment when they take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday. Here is the team we think Louis van Gaal will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: This is one position van Gaal doesn’t have to worry about. David De Gea is a dead cert to start.

Defence: The same can’t be said of the defence as the United boss is down to the bare bones once again. Chris Smalling is suspended after being sent off against City while Marcos Rojo is facing a spell on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder.

With Phil Jones and Jonny Evans still missing through injury, it means van Gaal may be forced to play midfielder Michael Carrick alongside rookie Paddy McNair at the heart of his defence this weekend. However, Rafael could recover from a minor knock to start at right-back.

Midfield: With Rafael back this would allow Antonio Valencia to move up into his preferred right-wing position with Adnan Januzaj possibly dropping out. Ander Herrera is also pushing for a recall but Marouane Fellaini seems to have played his way back into the United team so he could keep his place alongside Daley Blind in midfield.

Attack: Angel Di Maria will start on the left and Wayne Rooney is expected to once again be preferred to Juan Mata in the ‘hole’. With Radamel Falcao still struggling with a calf injury, there has been speculation in the newspapers that Robin van Persie could be dropped for youngster James Wilson but we expect the Dutchman to keep his place.

So this is how we predict United will line-up on Saturday;

What do you think of the team? What line-up would you select?
